Grant Provides Tech Resources for NAMI
Thanks to a generous grant from the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation, NAMI Sarasota and Manatee Counties was recently able to purchase laptops, I-pads, noise canceling headphones and tech accessories that can be used for our education classes and support groups. With a move to online programs due to COVID-19, having technology that is up to date and functional is critical for our volunteer group leaders and class teachers.
NAMI is currently conducting online peer support groups eight times per month and family support groups four times per month online. We are also offering a series of webinars throughout the fall.
“The technology NAMI was able to purchase with these grant funds ensures that all of our volunteers are well-equipped to offer online support and training now and in the future,” said Colleen Thayer, Executive Director. “We are grateful for the support from the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation.”
